GOLF PROFESSIONAL
Lucas has two titles in his current role. The first is as the Head Golf Professional at Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut. The second is the Director of Instruction of the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy at Gillette Ridge. He has been working as a golf professional since 2006 and was elected into the PGA of America in December of 2009. Prior to moving to the northeast, Lucas worked in Florida at places such as Lake Nona Golf and Country Club and Addison Reserve Country Club.
Lucas has honed his teaching skills throughout the years giving thousands of lessons and interacting with fellow professionals. His knowledge has come from tutelage by a list of golf professionals and master professionals like David Leadbetter and Gregor Jamieson. Along the way he has been honored with the list of accomplishments including winning a national award for his junior program in 2009 and having his Level III portfolio on display at the PGA Education Headquarters in Port St. Lucie, Florida. One of his favorite aspects of being a golf professional is the ability to inspire and affect the future of golf. He takes great pleasure interacting and positively affecting the character of individuals and the future of golf as a sport and business at Gillette Ridge Golf Club and with the First Tee of Connecticut.
Lucas’s drive has come from his family. Being a Golf Professional has become a family affair with his PGA lineage including his grandfather, little sister and her husband. “I feel like one of the lucky people who know and love what they do” says Lucas.
